We went to the new town for the Memorial Day parade. The very last vehicle in it (tiny wonderful small town parade) broke down.So the husband had to help push (he's in blue with a straw hat). I just loved the community effort - it totally typified what we loved about the parade and the town.
We went to this wacky Antique Auto Museum today, where they had vintage arcade games and peep show movies. The soccer game was rather quirky and the husband kept scoring in his own goal. This was the winning goal.
Of course, they were yelling "peace" as this was taken. Heaven knows where they got it from but I kind of adore it.
Yesterday at our beach, there was a bit of sadness. A harbor seal was there, no longer alive.She seemed to be well respected and marked for pickup by the aquarium today, but it was still sad to see. The little girl wanted to say a prayer which was so lovely and sweet. So tonight we packed a special dinner picnic for the beach, just to kind of have things on a better note. Turns out the kids like fresh turkey sandwiches, which is good because now I have several pounds of turkey breast.
The boy was fighting the tide, and eventually, the tide won.
Also, the percentage of surfers wearing wetsuits gets smaller daily.

At dinner the other night (wings yum), the girly drew a picture of the family. She's showing brother himself. The smirk has to do with how hair is always portrayed.
At least if I have to drive 30 minutes to school at 7:45 a.m. I get to see this.
The baby is a much bigger fan of baths when the siblings are involved, we discovered.

Today we hiked up a mountain. I completely forgot to take a single photo until we were at the trailhead. At the bottom. Oh well.
My mom took me to a friend's house to show me the style. For the most part it was much higher style than we want, but I did love the fireplace surround. We're trying to work out having wood and stone as well.
I love the snapshot into our lives from the clothesline. Nursing pajamas, boxer briefs in big and little, hello kitty panties, karate t-shirts.
The husband takes the two wee ones out after dinner, usually, so that I can do homework and violin. G thought he was a riot, calling these two "two-tone" (I call the baby Tonio a lot). Haw.
Today we went on a factory tour and in order to price, had to choose a zillion things on the spot. I wanted to remember what the countertop was so I took this.
Is it stealing if I take a lilac from the yard of a rental and bring it into said rental?
I kind of like being trapped under a baby for a couple of hours sometimes. So I let him sleep on me. And with the craziness of our lives, other kids, new house, all that, I feel like he deserves me and quiet sometimes.
I may be biased, but I think that we got the best costume for the recital. The group before us had lots of day-glo on their four year olds.
Anyway, it was picture day. I didn't use "enough" bobby pins or hairspray (that is, none) but it was fine. And I didn't have to wash her hair six times afterward.
